The Spin is our take on Australia's media, particularly gay and lesbian issues. We're not doing headlines, we take a peak behind the news... looking at the spin the media puts on the news we consume. Everything you see on TV, everything you read in the paper or hear on the radio has been put together by humans. So everything we consume has a bias of one sort or another. And, as part of JOY, we do it all from a gay and lesbian perspective.

The Spin team comprises Tim Newton and Patrick Bonello - both hosts have had their own spin around the media, mainly in radio, including production, newsreading and journalism.

Regular segments include Media Monitoring with Patrick Baume (from slicemedia.com.au), GLBTI World Headlines with Matt Kelly, Ben McCormack's Report from Sin City and a preview of Melbourne's local gay and lesbian press, BNews and MCV. And there's always a few surprises and points of view to get your brain working.

The show is backed up by a team of contributors from all corners of the media. And you are part of the team too with opportunities to contribute your thoughts and comments throughout the program.  So we want to hear from YOU.
